Ambassador Sudhir Devare
Shri Devare is a former member of the Indian Foreign Service (1964-2001) and worked in the Indian missions in Moscow, Washington, Gangtok, Frankfurt, Geneva and Yangon. He was Ambassador to South Korea . Served as the first Indian Ambassador to the Ukraine, Armenia and Georgia after these new republics were formed following the disintegration of the Soviet Union.
Shri Devare was later Ambassador to Indonesia (1994-98). He was Secretary in Ministry of External Affairs (1998-2001) and was closely associated with the evolution and implementation of India’s Look East policy and multilateral economic relations.
Shri Devare was a Visiting Professor at the Jawaharlal Nehru University(2002). He was a member of the National Security Advisory Board (NSAB) from 2001-03. Shri Devare was a Visiting Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies, Singapore (2003-06).
He was a Fellow with the Weatherhead Center, Harvard University, Cambridge, USA from 2007-08.
Shri Devare served as the Director General of the Indian Council of World Affairs, Sapru House, the oldest think-tank in India. (2009-12)
From 2013 -17 he was the Ram Sathe Chair Professor at Symbiosis International University in Pune and Noida.
Shri Devare is presently Chairman of Research Advisory Council (RAC) of Research and Information System (RIS) for Developing Countries, New Delhi
Shri Devare is Chairman, Society for Indian Ocean Studies (SIOS), a long established think-tank in New Delhi engaged in the studies of the Indian Ocean and the countries on its littoral.
Ambassador Devare is the author of a book,’ India and Southeast Asia: towards Security Convergence’. He has also edited four books.

Prof. Krishnendra Meena is Professor at Centre for the study of Regional Development, School of Social Science, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He specializes on the topics of Geopolitics, Indian Ocean, Borders and BRICS. He joined SIOS as Secretary General in December 2020.

Commodore S Samaddar (IIT-R) retired as Principal Director Naval Plans. Post retirement he has served in leadership positions in private sector and as Senior Consultant, NITI AAYOG, Government of India. He is presently an independent consultant to industry, Adviser MRAI, Adviser (A&D) FICCI and Distinguished Fellow at CAPS, New Delhi.

Dr. Vinayshil Gautam
Dr. Vinayshil Gautam has been in consulting, industry, & academia. He has special interests in Organization & Strategy Management; Transportation& infrastructure; MIS, Maritime operations. He is a recipient of numerous national & international awards, fellowships, recognition Dr. Gautam’s assignments include being, Founder Director of 5th IIM at Kozhikode (Calicut). He was 1st Head of 1st statutory Management Dept in IIT pantheon, at IIT-D. He was Founder Coordinator of Entrepreneurship Programme at IIT(D). Dr. Gautam was 1st Chair Professor of Comparative Management; 1st AA Al Sagar Chair Professor;1st Emeritus Chair Professor at IIT-D He was: Leader of Consulting team for 7th IIM in Shillong, Sr. Adviser KPMG&1st Dean KPMG Academy. He is also the Chairman of DK International Foundation. Served on/as the Quinquennial Review Team of Government of India for Central Institute of Fisheries Technology; Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute; Central Institute of Fisheries Education; Treasurer, Society for Indian Ocean Studies; Management Expert to Dubai Port Authority; ex-Trustee Mumbai Port; Member search-cum selection committee of Ministry of Shipping for CEOs of Port Trusts; VC-IMU; Port related Organizations; Researched & published in Ocean Studies and sea routes; Chairman of the Committee of Ministry of Shipping on Performance, Training and skill formation in Maritime sector; ex-Hony.
